When you walk into a Patterson State Bank location, you’re not just entering a financial institution — you’re stepping into a legacy that has proudly served St. Mary Parish for 100 years.

Founded in 1925 by community leaders Harry Williams and E.F. Marin, Patterson State Bank (PSB) began with a simple philosophy: to know its customers and serve them with care, trust, and personalized attention. A century later, that guiding principle is still at the heart of everything they do.

100 Years Strong – And Still Growing

On Wednesday, April 16, PSB marked its 100th anniversary with centennial ribbon cuttings at all three of its branches — the Patterson Main Office, Berwick Office, and Morgan City (Bay Office). The celebrations weren’t just a look back at the past, but a vibrant tribute to the future — filled with gratitude, appreciation, and the community spirit that has carried them forward for a full century.

From hand-written ledgers to modern-day mobile banking, PSB has evolved with the times, consistently adapting to meet the needs of its customers while preserving its core identity as an independent, community-first bank. Today, customers can enjoy 24/7 account access through online and mobile banking — convenience Harry and E.F. might not recognize, but the personalized service? That would feel right at home.

Built on Values. Powered by People.

“From my first days at PSB, Bill Marin Sr. always taught that the bank’s philosophy was to know its customers and to do whatever it takes to make people feel comfortable when they come into the bank,” said Peter J. Lipari. “So many businesses these days operate in terms of quantity and not quality. We feel that there will always be room for a bank that does an excellent job of giving personal customer service, and we intend to continue providing the type of service that would make Harry Williams and E. F. Marin proud.”

Those words are more than sentiment — they are the mission in action. Whether it’s helping a young family buy their first home, supporting a local business with financing, or showing up for local events, Patterson State Bank is rooted in service.

Community First. Always.

PSB has always done more than manage money — they’ve helped grow dreams, strengthen neighborhoods, and support generations of families. They’ve celebrated milestones with their customers, stood strong through storms, and helped rebuild when the community needed it most.

Their 100th-anniversary celebration wasn’t just a corporate milestone — it was a thank you to the people who have made this journey possible. As they shared in a heartfelt post, “The best part of celebrating our 100th anniversary? Celebrating with friends we’ve made along the way!”

Looking Ahead - Patterson State Bank

As Patterson State Bank moves into its second century, one thing is certain: their heart will remain in St. Mary Parish. They will continue to lead with integrity, invest in local growth, and offer the kind of banking experience that values people over profits.

In a world of big banks and fast mergers, PSB stands out as a reminder that community banking — when done right — never goes out of style.

Cheers to 100 years, Patterson State Bank — and here’s to the next 100.
